A New Destination and Crafting

I have been suffering anxiety and depression for 1 year now and am slowly getting ME back, so have decided to go on a holiday to refresh my mind and body.

We are travelling to Furteventura. It is an island we have never visited so this is a bit of an adventure.

I am going to share my journey with all of you as I feel it help will focus me and get me a step closer to finding myself again.

I plan to post pics of the island, where I stay and where I visit and also the crafting things I do ( or not) when I am there.

Maybe I will just journal or plan out my Mother’s Day and Easter makes…who knows? Watch this space.

First challenge will be to decide what crafting kit to take with me, bearing in mind that I have only 1 cabin bag …Hmmmm…..any suggestions?

Happy March 2018

So here we are in the middle of “The Beast From The East”

It’s March 1st and there is a Red Warning out from the Met office…Scotland is at a virtual standstill.

The upside of this is that Mother Nature has given us such beauty to enjoy, and that we are forced to spend time with our families…Sundays used to do that !

Since the advent of Sunday  shop opening here in Scotland, it seems that somehow there is no real family time.

I feel ( rightly or wrongly) that we have somehow been forced to trade away our day of rest and when I become Prime Minster (ahem, never!) I will bring back mandatory closure for businesses on a Sunday, then perhaps we won’t feel pressurised into doing anything except spending time with our loved ones…rant over! 😀

Here is my favourite image from today.

Look at those icicles hanging from my hobby hut ( where I do most of my creating) …just stunning, aren’t they?

Enjoy the snow and spectacle but stay safe please.

Family

It’s been a while so here goes…

Mr FAB ( Flynn Archer Brady) is my Australian grandson and , also in 2016, he was joined by his cousins Summer Rose Brady and Sophia Helena Fyfe so it’s been a busy year. They are all beautiful babies and Flynn is now approaching his 1st birthday…gutted to be missing it.

Babies in the family make life worth living and we can wait till Sophia’s Mummy and Daddy get married in September when we will all be together again. We have booked a lodge at the wedding venue so are having a wee 3 day celebration.

Here are the new babies, Summer’s bid brother Logan and Mr FAB himself…approaching 1 year old with Sophia’s “brother ” Willis

I will let you know.

Here’s who bought us the holiday… thanks Laura n Mick!

They too are in Portugal … they are in Albuferia, we’re meeting them tonight.

Mother’s Day Australia 8/5/2016

The day began when I woke up with Mr FAB sleeping beside me and I just breathed in his baby smell…yum!

His dad came in and got him so the Laura’s first Mother’s Day could begin. I went back to sleep and was woken up by the 3 of them coming in with cards n gifts.

I really am a lucky lady and also got some Facebook messages from my other 2 children, Graeme and Leah ( both expecting babies in August and October respectively) .

We chilled for a while then went out, did some shopping and got some fantastic burgers for lunch.

It was a great day out. We were all tired when we got home and just watched tv ( me with Flynnie on my lap) until 9.30… Early to bed , perfect end to a perfect day.

Thanks Laura, for allowing me to share your first Mother’s Day, a day to remember 💕💕💕

F A B, Flynn Archer Brady

Born 7th April 2016, my youngest son Gavin’s first child whom I am currently visiting in Perth, Australia. Laura Grimmett, his mum ( whom I had never met) has been brilliant at allowing me to be hands on with him which has given me a real bond with both of  them💕
Our first family night out was to Sienas Sister Restaurant in Perth. We had a lovely meal there and Flynn had his tea too! First taste of Lemon and Lime bitters for me… Yum!
